Summer Job in Social Psychiatry in Mariestad Municipality

The social psychiatric unit in Mariestad municipality operates two residences for people with mental health issues, Ekbacken and Krontorp. We are now looking for several positive and trustworthy summer workers for these facilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities at both Ekbacken and Krontorp involve working investigatively, supportively, and motivationally to strengthen the individual's own resources for an independent life and active participation in community life.

You should be able to meet the individual where they are and understand the difficulties they may face. You should be able to make independent decisions and solve various situations based on each individual.

Together with the individual, you will plan and structure their daily life, leisure, and activities. The work at Ekbacken also includes caregiving tasks such as assisting with hygiene, dressing and undressing, meal situations, etc.

The operation strives for collaboration with relatives, healthcare, and labor market actors.

QUALIFICATIONS

To fit at Ekbacken and Krontorp, it is advantageous if you have a nursing education with a psychiatric focus. It is also beneficial if you have ongoing or completed post-secondary education as a social pedagogue or in behavioral science.

Previous experience working with people suffering from mental health issues and familiarity with low-arousal approaches are considered highly advantageous. Previous caregiving experience is also a plus.

As a person, we see that you can work independently while also being able to collaborate easily with other colleagues, care staff, and nurses. You should be confident in yourself and have a calm and stable demeanor.

Since we have two residences, we will prioritize substitutes who can be flexible and work across both locations and who enjoy working with both older and younger target groups. We will also prioritize those who can work irregular hours as we serve during days, evenings, weekends, nights, and sleeping on-call.

A driver's license (B) is required.
